Vivian Green Reimschiissel
Vivian Green Reimschiissel returned to her heavenly home, November 9, 2011.
She was born in American Fork, Utah on March 1, 1923, to Marion and Mariam Ireta Tanner Green. After graduating from American Fork High School, Vivian earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in accounting with a minor in music from BYU. As a missionary for the LDS church, she served in the Atlantic States mission: Virginia and N. Carolina. After her mission, she worked with Utah Power & Light, Geneva Steel and also in San Francisco for a period of time. She was later employed with the LDS church in the radio department as a secretary for Gordon B. Hinckley. She was blessed with musical talent as she excelled as a cellist and had a beautiful soprano voice which provided her with opportunities to sing as a member of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, and in her LDS ward choirs for many years.
She married her childhood friend, Willy Reimschiissel, on June 24, 1953 in the Salt Lake Temple LDS. They resided in American Fork, Utah for 26 years, and then relocated to Benjamin, Utah. In 1995, they were called to serve a mission to the Germany Leipzig Mission. Shortly after their return in 1997, Willy passed away.
Vivian’s greatest joy was her family; she is survived by her seven children and their spouses: James and Judy R. - Benjamin, UT; Mark and Sharon R. - Washington, UT; Eric and Laura R. - of Henderson, NV; Jeff R. - Benjamin, UT; Rebecca and Dan Perry - Denton, TX; Kelly R. and Kelly D. R. - Highland, UT; Lisa and Phil Hatch - SLC, UT. She was also the proud grandmother of 24 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren, with one more on the way. She is also survived by her sister and brother, Joy Green Olson and Jesse Lynn Green.
She was preceded in death by her sweetheart, Willy; also, parents, and siblings: Helen, Marion Clayton, Vera, baby Sister, David and Dallin Tanner.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Nov.18 at 11:00 a.m. at the Benjamin, Utah LDS Chapel, 3238 W. 7300 S, Benjamin, Utah, with viewings to be held Thursday, Nov. 17 from 6-8 p.m. and Friday Nov. 18 from 9:45 – 10:45 a.m both at the church. Interment will be in the American Fork City Cemetery at 2:30 p.m.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the caregivers with Mountain Air Assisted Living in Payson, UT, and also Alpine Home Care, for the kindness and care given to mom.
